during a visit of about 2 weeks in early July,

the prefecture has provided
are being used.

Vice Chair Liliya Babiy reporting to Governor Ibaragi on the situation in Ukraine

Main points:

She reported that air-raid sirens sound almost every day
and missiles land nearby,
yet despite this tense situation
people keep going to work
and carry on with their lives with resilience.

She confirmed that the ambulances, fire engines
and other vehicles provided free of charge
by Okayama Prefecture are being put to good use,
and said, “The Okayama ambulances
were used with great care
and proved very helpful.”

She also reported
a serious shortage of medical equipment there
and asked for donations
of medical equipment that is no longer in use.

The Governor said,
“I keenly felt that the lives of Ukrainians
are in danger every day.
We want to keep thinking about
what support we can provide.”
