News: Maniwa hands over 2 fire engines to us

At 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, a handover ceremony for 2 fire engines was held at Maniwa City Hall. The city also donated vehicles last year; this brings its total to 2 donations.
At the ceremony, Mayor Noboru Ota handed over the certificate of donation, which NPO EURASIA (represented by Vice Chair Liliya Babiy) received. The vehicles are to be shipped by sea from Mizushima Port in Kurashiki to the port of Odesa in wartime Ukraine.

In Ukraine, bombing and fires have left a shortage of fire engines, a serious problem with direct consequences for human lives. These vehicles will be put to work right away, protecting many lives.
In the words of Vice Chair Babiy:
“Fire engines are in short supply, so I am very happy that we could send 2. I believe these vehicles will save many lives. As a Ukrainian, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
With these words, she expressed her gratitude.

This initiative, in which a local government and a citizens’ group worked together to protect lives across borders, is a pioneering example of international support. We will continue our support work for the safety of the people there and for peace.
