A fire engine still bearing Tsuyama City Volunteer Fire Corps markings, after arriving in Mykolaivka, Sumy Oblast, Ukraine (April 2026)

In April 2026, 4 fire engines donated by municipalities in Okayama Prefecture arrived in Ukraine. Okayama Prefecture announced their arrival on June 5.

  • Donated by: Tsuyama City (2 vehicles), Maniwa City (2 vehicles)
  • Recipients: the Mykolaivka hromada in Sumy Oblast, a municipal enterprise of Obukhiv City Council in Kyiv Oblast, and a volunteer center in Odesa (a municipal enterprise of the village of Opytne)
  • Departure from Japan: December 11, 2025 (Mizushima Port)
  • Arrival in Ukraine: April 2026

On the same shipment we also sent 30 wheelchairs and 209 items of medical clothing, which were handed over to the Ukrainian Food Banks Association in Kyiv.

We acted as the shipper for all 4 vehicles and arranged the export procedures and the sea freight. Municipalities in Okayama Prefecture have now provided vehicles to Ukraine 5 times.

Thank you for your support

We sincerely thank the cities of Tsuyama and Maniwa for providing the vehicles, everyone who helped with the transport, and everyone whose donations paid for the shipping.

Including these 4, we have now sent 14 ambulances and fire engines to Ukraine. We are raising donations to pay for shipping the next vehicles by sea.
